NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING – MEMO TO TECHS

Memo to Techs – Profit

Memo to Techs – Profit

Good Day All
Knowing the ins and outs of your favourite NDT method is important for your career and it keeps you out of jail.
Something else you need to know about is the inner workings of your employer.
Yes, when your employer is unable to invoice for a job you did because of incomplete paperwork or shoddy record keeping, you cannot expect the company to remain profitable.
When the client is not happy with your report and sends it back for you to re-do, it leaves a bad impression and you cannot expect the company to remain profitable.
When equipment breaks or disappears due to a don’t care attitude, you cannot expect the company to remain profitable.
When consumables are wasted and half empty cans left on site, you cannot expect the company to remain profitable. R80-00 per can people! That is R160-00 for 800ml. That is more expensive than Brandewyn!
When PPE is replaced on a weekly basis simply because you feel you deserve better, you cannot expect the company to remain profitable.
When the company vehicle is abused, you cannot expect the company to remain profitable.
All these things add up and at the end of the year when it’s time for bonuses we complain when it’s too small. Come on people. We can make this company more profitable, then everybody benefits.
